Molecular targets

We use genetic, metabolic, structural and physiological approaches to:

1

Assess effects of biotic and abiotic stressors on bacteria, yeasts, plants and mammalian cells;

2

Screen engineered and natural microbial collections to uncover the molecular basis of desirable phenotypes, and for the production of value added compounds (e.g. single cell oil, enzymes) from bio-wastes contributing to a circular economy.

High-throughput computing will establish genes/metabolites patterns associated with specific environmental conditions. Taken together, these strategies will be pivotal to the development of efficient microbial-based processes.
