How can scientific literacy serve as a catalyst for civic empowerment and active participation? This roundtable discussion brings together leading voices in science, education, and communication to examine the transformative role of science in shaping informed, engaged citizens.

• João Paulo André
  Chemist and Professor at the University of Minho, author of works such as Poções e Paixões: Química e Ópera and Irmãs de Prometeu: A Química no Feminino, the latter published internationally by Springer.
• Paulo Gama Mota
  Biologist and Professor at the University of Coimbra, and former Director of the University of Coimbra’s Science Museum.
• Ado Jório
  Physicist and Deputy Director of the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL).
