Research Interests

My research applies biological systems to develop sustainable bio-based solutions within a circular (bio)economy, including: 1) developing bioinspired recombinant protein polymers, especially for antimicrobial applications; 2) bioprospecting marine microorganisms for value-added compounds; and 3) using microorganisms as a bioremediation platform for biodegradation of plastics and restoration of polluted environments.
