Background
Daniela Batista completed the PhD in Molecular and Environmental Biology Doctoral Program (2017, University of Minho), the Master Degree in Contamination and Environmental Toxicology (2010, University of Porto Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences Sciences) and a Degree in Applied Biology (2008, University of Minho). Most recently she is an Invited Assistent Professor at the Department of Biology at the University of Minho.
Research Interests
The main interest is the impacts of emerging contaminants (plastics, nanoparticles, pharmaceuticals) in freshwater ecosystems. More specific on trophic interactions, microbial decomposers (aquatic fungi and bacteria) and invertebrates (shredders and collectors). The main process is leaf litter decomposition on aquatic ecosystems. Also interest in Molecular tools to assess microbial decomposers.
