The main goal of GrapeMicrobiotal is adopting an innovative strategy to characterize the microbial fingerprint of 3 grapevine varieties of DOC Douro region, aiming at the selection of prominent strains to be used as starter cultures in the production of regional wines with a sharp imprint of the terroir, adding substantial value to the local resources and contributing for local (and global) improvement in the economic sector.
