Deborah Hofstra (Earth Sciences New Zealand)

Deborah Hofstra currently leads the Aquatic Biosecurity Flagship at Earth Sciences New Zealand, and serves on the international science committees for the International Aquatic Plants Group and for the International Conference on Aquatic Invasive Species (ICAIS 2026). Her interest in freshwater biosecurity leverages research on the management of aquatic plants, including the control of invasive species and the restoration of native plants.
