Background
Ronaldo Sousa received a PhD from the University of Porto (Portugal) in 2008 and was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Cambridge (UK) and Ciimar (Portugal) between 2008 and 2009. Since September 2009, he is a Professor at the University of Minho (Portugal) where he is now an Associate Professor with Habilitation. In the last years Ronaldo Sousa made part of more than 20 national and international projects as PI, co-PI or member.
Research Interests
Ronaldo Sousa has broad interests in aquatic ecology and conservation. In the last years, the main topics of research have included the assessment of conservation status of freshwater biodiversity and ecosystems in the context of global changes. Particular relevant topics of his research include the effects of biological invasions, climate change, and habitat loss and fragmentation on aquatic biodiversity.
