Background
Richard Breia holds a BSc in Applied Biology (2008), a MSc in Plant Molecular Physiology (2011) and a PhD in Biology (2020) at the University of Minho in collaboration with the Valencia Polytechnic University. Currently he is a junior researcher and an integrated member of CBMA.
Research Interests
His main passion is to harmoniously integrate basic and applied research. His research interests go from plant biology where he studies the intricate relationship between plants and pathogenic fungi and the role of membrane sugar transport, to biotechnology where his work is about the exploration of the autochthonous microbiota to improve quality and to imprint a regional seal to winemaking.
