CIENCIA VITAE | ORCID
Background

She holds an MSc in Biotechnology and a PhD in Microbiology, Specialty in Biotechnology (both from Univ NOVA Lisbon/Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC)). She is a Full Professor at CBMA, previously co-director of the Institute of Science and Innovation for Bio-Sustainability (IB-S) and director of CBMA.

Research Interests

Yeasts biology, in particular the physiology and molecular biology of glycerol plasma membrane permeases in response to osmotic stress and associated signalling. More recently she focused on the characterization of yeasts predatory behaviour over phytopathogenic fungi. This aims the development of novel pre-harvest phytosanitary strategies for sustainable agriculture.
