Qualifications

2000:Graduated in Marine Sciences, University of Vigo. 2003:Master in Science in Biodiversity and Conservation of Natural Environment, University of Santiago de Compostela. 2008:PhD (“Meiofaunal assemblages in the Ria de Foz (Galiza)”, University of Santiago de Compostela.

Research

During the last ten years I have studied many topics of marine ecology. I am very interested in the taxonomy and biogeography of marine invertebrates, particularly on marine tardigrades. I am also interested in the effect of different anthropogenic disturbances on benthic assemblages. I have studied the effect of oil spills, metal and organic matter enrichment on meiobenthic and macrobenthic assemblages. I have participated in different projects that studied the effect of global warming on intertidal fucoids and gastropods. Finally, I am interested in the effect of ecosystem engineers (both native and non indigenous) on the diversity and functioning of benthic assembalges.
