Abstract

This project is a two-year R&D collaboration with PPG Industries, Inc., focused on developing an advanced, sustainable antifouling coating. The work aims to both enhance existing PPG formulations and develop sustainable approaches to paint production using natural polymers. By integrating materials engineering, microbiological assays, advanced characterisation, and AI-assisted analysis, the project aims to deliver high-performance, environmentally responsible antifouling solutions while reinforcing knowledge transfer between academia and industry.
