Janine Silva was awarded with the best student oral presentation prize at Euromal 2021

Janine Silva was awarded with the best oral presentation prize for students, at Euromal 2021 – 9th European Congress of Malacological Societies, in Prague, Czech Republic.

The congress had more than 450 participants and brings together experts from different areas and includes the main topics related to current research in malacology (study of molluscs).

The presentation, entitled “Predicting future range shifts to a critically endangered freshwater mussel in Europe: the importance of including fish hosts”, aimed to investigate the effects of climate changes on the distribution of the river mussel, Margaritifera margaritifera, in Europe, having taking into account the distribution of their host fish, essential for the reproduction of this bivalve.
