CBMA researchers participate in AIL 2026

CBMA/IB-S Stands Out at the XXIII Congress of the Iberian Limnological Association (AIL 2026)

CBMA/IB-S had a strong presence at the XXIII Congress of the Iberian Limnological Association (AIL 2026), held in Bilbao, Spain, between June 22nd and 26th, bringing together researchers dedicated to the study of continental aquatic ecosystems.

The team was represented by Cláudia Pascoal, Fernanda Cássio, Giorgio Pace, Ana Rita Pimentão, Henrique Alves, Pedro Costa, and Sara Rodrigues, who presented papers and moderate sessions in river ecology, ecosystem services, riparian habitats, ecotoxicology, emerging contaminants, and innovative solutions for the conservation of freshwater ecosystems.

The participation of CBMA/IB-S was distinguished with several awards.

– Ana Rita Pimentão was awarded the prize for Best Oral Presentation

– Pedro Costa was award for Best Poster and Best Flash Talk

– Diana Graça received an Honorable Mention for Best Doctoral Thesis, supervised by Cláudia Pascoal, Isabel Fernandes and Fernanda Cássio at CBMA/IB-S.
