CBMA at European Researchers’ Night 2024

In the 27th of September, CBMA took part in the European Researchers’ Night at Forum Braga, offering a variety of interactive and educational activities that engaged visitors of all ages. It was an evening focused on curiosity and discovery, where our researchers connected with the public to showcase the important work being conducted at CBMA.

The activities presented included:

  • Degradation and detection of antibiotics in water
  • Albinism and skin colour: genetics and social factors
  • Genetic diversity among NEI participants
  • The invisible world: the superpowers of microorganisms
  • Soil dynamics
  • Extremophiles: tools for a more sustainable world
  • Yeasts in action: from grape to wine, and dough to bread
  • “A Rear Window to the Environment” photography exhibition
  • Propolis & global challenges: the secrets of this little-known bee product
  • Cultivating and defending nature
  • Genetic engineering and microbes: on the path to sustainability
  • Emerging fungal infections and global warming

We thank everyone who visited our stand and joined us in exploring these important topics. The event was a great success, helping to bring science closer to the public and fostering curiosity about our world.
