We apply 2nd generation biomonitoring systems based on cutting-edge DNA-sequencing and state- of-the-art computational analysis using sensors to assist biodiversity assessment, aligned with Water and Marine Strategy Framework Directives. Sensors based on DNA barcodes to monitor fish eggs and larvae will also benefit the management of fisheries by providing accurate data on species ranges, spawning times and areas.
