Biodiversity and Sustainable Tourism Tour - from Fafião to Pincães - Cabril

Biodiversity and Sustainable Tourism Tour – from Fafião to Pincães – Cabril, in the municipality of Montalegre, on May 20, from 10h00 to 19h00. Free Admission. Lecture in Ecomuseum – Polo of Fafião, a walk with a visit to Fojo do Lobo, passage through the Azeveiro plantation, to the hut / shelter of the shepherds of the Vidoal and visit to the Bears’ Silja, ending with a trip to the Cascade of Pincães. Low / medium difficulty trail in the Peneda-Gerês National Park, organized by the Center for Molecular and Environmental Biology (CBMA) and the Vezeira Association, in the framework of the International Day of Biological Diversity.

The United Nations has proclaimed May 22 the International Day for Biological Diversity with the purpose of increasing the level of awareness and knowledge about biodiversity. This year’s theme has been chosen to coincide with the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Developmenta measure that recognizes the importance of sustainable tourism, thus promoting better management of the economic, social and environmental needs and resources of localities and tourists.

Vezeira Association promotes activities that fit perfectly within the scope of this celebration, for respecting the cultural integrity of a village of the Peneda Gerês National Park and its natural environment. This association tries to minimize the impact caused by human activity, to ensure and to protect the heritage that the destination is, both now and in the future.

Meeting point is in Braga, at 8h30 in pastry shop Montalegrense (variant do Fojo and not next to UM); Departure is at 8h45 in private car; Hiking of approximately 12km; Each Participant is responsible for their lunch.
